A Front Royal man is hospitalized with serious injuries after his pickup truck rolled over several times in an accident Monday on Route 7 in Ashburn, according to police. The driver, Paul T. Cooney, 37, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Regulators are seeking public comment on a Dominion Virginia Power plan to build a new high-voltage transmission line and substation in Loudoun County. The State Corporation Commission says local public hearings are scheduled for March 18 in Sterling.

A Washington TV station is reporting that a Sterling man charged with a murder-for-hire plot has ties to a white supremacist group. Dallas W. Brumback Jr., 35, was arrested last week and charged with attempted capital murder after he allegedly solicited a man to kill his ex-wife, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

The Senate Education and Health Committee passed a bill Monday submitted by Republican Sen. Richard Black of Loudoun County that would require any employee of a state college or university who learns of such an allegation to report it to a local law-enforcement agency within 24 hours. Failure to do so would be a misdemeanor.

Loudoun County police are investigating a shooting last week that apparently occurred during a botched drug transaction. The police responded at 11:20 p.m. Saturday to the emergency room at Inova Loudoun Hospital for a report of a male who was assaulted, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
