The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, March 28, starting at 7:30 p.m. "In the past several years, DUI arrests and DUI-related crashes have steadily declined through the efforts of local, regional and national educational and enforcement campaigns to curb drunk driving," Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a statement. "In Loudoun County, DUI-related arrests declined 12.6 percent between 2010 and 2013, a trend similar to the 17.2 percent decline in DUI arrests observed by law enforcement agencies throughout the country," he added.

A cat was apparently abandoned in a store parking lot in Virginia along with cat survival gear, and authorities were looking for a woman who they think may have information about it. Animal services in Loudoun County was told of the possible cat abandonment on Wednesday from a Walmart store in the Sterling area.
