The Eagles will ride with Nick Foles for at least one more week.
The veteran quarterback will start Sunday at Tampa Bay, coach Doug Pederson announced Wednesday. He added that Carson Wentz still has not been cleared for contact as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL.
The move was expected, with reports last weekend suggesting Wentz wouldn't be ready to return until Week 3 at the earliest, but Pederson hadn't shed any light on the situation earlier in the week.
Foles was good enough to keep the defending Super Bowl champions afloat in their 18-12 season-opening win against the Falcons, but hardly impressive. He completed 19 of 34 passes for 117 yards with an interception and was sacked twice.
For what it's worth, Foles has had success against the Buccaneers in the past, throwing for 677 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions in two games against them.
