'Old Guy' in Road Rage Incident Wasn't Just Any Old GuyFebruary 23, 2018 8:54am

Chased by Chevy: Police say actor Chevy Chase pursued a driver across a bridge over the Hudson River before being kicked in an apparent road rage incident earlier this month.

New York State Police say the 74-year-old actor has told them he followed another vehicle across the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge into Rockland County after he was cut off and thought his Mercedes had been damaged by a Dodge Ram, the Journal News reports.

Chase and the other driver, 22-year-old Michael Landrio, exchanged angry words after pulling over at an exit, police say. Landrio, who allegedly kicked the actor in the shoulder, was charged with second-degree harassment.

Landrio has told police he kicked Chase in self-defense. He tells Page Six that he was driving upstate to go snowmobiling with his girlfriend and another couple when the chase began.

"It was an old guy yelling—something we couldn't hear—super pissed-off," he says. "We just tried to get the heck away from him. He followed us the whole length of the bridge, driving crazy." Landrio says after they pulled over, Chase started swearing and screaming that he would "ruin their lives." He says he kicked the actor after Chase yanked open his car door and started trying to attack him inside his vehicle.

Landrio says he didn't know who the man was. "I looked him up on Google and I still didn't know who he was," he says. "He didn't look like he looked when he made his movies."
